What happens if you get accepted?

There are many different roles and job opportunities within UNICEF that give interns a chance to get a taste of real international development work. This means there is flexibility as to what internship role(s) you may be assigned. Possible options include working with UNICEF’s Partnerships team, Communication and Outreach teams, Country Offices, or Regional Bureaus.

Depending on your interests, skills and career goals, an intern assignment could consist of anything from research and analysis to project planning and management. You will also gain valuable experience in one of these areas or another depending on what role(s) you may be assigned.

Benefits of being an intern with UNICEF

Some of you may already know that UNICEF, together with our partners and host countries, has achieved great progress towards meeting children’s needs for survival, protection and education. From emergency relief to sustainable development, UNICEF’s work is carried out by thousands of dedicated staff working across 190 countries and territories to deliver humanitarian assistance as well as children’s rights programming.

We are currently looking for highly motivated students and graduates who wish to take part in an internship program (3 months) under a top-notch management consultancy company, Accenture Consulting LLP. This experience will help you gain valuable exposure to a corporate environment while providing experience that demonstrates your ability to solve problems strategically – critical skills sought after by companies around the world.

Testimonials from previous interns

Why did you choose to intern with UNICEF? I had just finished my undergraduate studies and wanted to see if I really wanted to go into research. The internship experience with UNICEF showed me that there was a place for me working at an NGO, but that my long-term career goal is to be working on pharmaceutical development. What do you hope you get out of your internship?

I hope that by spending my summer doing hands-on research, I will be able to have a better idea about whether it’s something I can see myself doing for a longer period of time. If not, it will allow me to continue along another path and feel confident moving forward. Have you ever considered working for a global organization like UNICEF?
